Meet the team here at Blue Sky Day Nursery.
Here at Blue Sky Day Nursery, our fully qualified team aims to bring the very best experience for every child that walks through our doors using our unique learning approach.
Our fantastic team is headed by business owner Vivienne.
Vivienne has two children of her own and has a foundation degree from York St John University in working with children and young people. Viv opened the first Blue Sky Day Nursery in 2005 when she needed a more flexible approach for childcare for her eldest daughter.
Viv is a very ‘hands on’ business owner and shares her time between the Market Weighton Blue Sky, Blue Sky York, Blue Sky Pocklington and her full-time job at Smith and Nephew in Hull. Being a parent herself Viv understands the need for childcare that fits where you need it and that can be flexible enough to suit parent’s various working and family patterns. Viv believes firmly that children learn most through play activities when they are engaged, entertained and happy and that happy childcare practitioners lead to happy children.
Jo is the Area Manager for Blue Sky Day Nursery in Market Weighton, Blue Sky Day Nursery in Pocklington and York and has a first-class Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies along with many other qualifications she has gained over the 24 years she has been a childcare practitioner.
Jo has worked in many areas across the nursery including running the office and sorting the finances and advertising to working in the care rooms where she can usually be found making a mess and having fun with the children.
Jo, who is a mum to three grown up children and now a grandma to two little boys shares her time between the Market Weighton and York branches of Blue Sky and is often lost somewhere on route between the two.
“I’m Sarah, I have worked at Blue Sky York since it opened in October 2018. I began as the deputy manager and am now the nursery manager which I really enjoy. It is a pleasure to work with the kind and caring staff we have at Blue Sky and to look after the lovely children and families we have at our nursery.
I have worked in many different roles across education and child care, as well as bringing up my own 2 children who are now young adults. I have a dog, cat and 2 hamsters at home, when I am not at work I like to bake, see friends and go for walks with my dog.”
“Hi, I’m Beth and I’m the Deputy Manager at Blue Sky York. I qualified as an Early Years Educator in April 2017 and have had experience in other nurseries before joining Blue Sky in February 2021.
I love my job because it is so rewarding – caring for and looking after the children. Making them laugh and seeing them happy really makes my day. My hobbies include horse riding (I own 2 horses), baking and planning my wedding!”

I find this job very rewarding watching and helping all the children grow and learn.”
“My name is Chloe, I have been working at Blue Sky since June 2019. I spend my time working throughout all the rooms in the nursery.
